CT BIPOC Mental Health & Wellness Alliance Team
Rooted in Community, Committed to Healing, United for Change.

Our Story
The CT BIPOC Mental Health & Wellness Alliance was born in 2020, during the height of the dual pandemics of COVID-19 and systemic racism. Founded by Dr. Janelle Posey-Green, the Alliance emerged as a community-led response to the urgent need for mental health and wellness resources for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in Connecticut.
What began as a grassroots effort to share information and provide support during a time of collective crisis quickly evolved into a powerful network of BIPOC mental health professionals, healers, and wellness practitioners. The Alliance started by hosting virtual forums to connect community members with culturally responsive care and resources building a vibrant, supportive space that crossed disciplines and generations.
Today, the CT BIPOC Alliance continues to uplift its original mission while expanding its reach. Through monthly educational forums hosted on Facebook, the platform remains a vital source of knowledge, collaboration, and empowerment for both BIPOC professionals and community members seeking to deepen their understanding of mental health and holistic wellness.
Now, in a major milestone, the Alliance is proud to host its very first in-person conference, bringing together voices from across the state to share, learn, and grow in the spirit of healing, resilience, and collective care.
